Question: I need a sling for Glastonbury this year, she’ll be 12 month old (and 5 days ;o) any ideas?
We asked our readers, here are their responses:
- Babyhawk http://www.babyhawk.com
- The grandparents!!!
- Snug Baby http://www.snugbaby.co.uk
- I’d go for a Connecta. Have used EVERY type of carrier, wrap, MT etc. Connecta is brilliant for comfort for all at 12mths http://www.connectababycarrier.com
- Close baby carrier – face outwards to watch, turn inwards to sleep http://www.closeparent.com
- We love this one http://www.thebabasling.com/
- Here is a great selection from Kiddibase http://bit.ly/ej3RkG
- I love my didymos and carry my chunky 15 month old in it. http://www.didymos.com
- 12 month old at #glasto – you need a stiff drink
- Absolutely love the Ergo. Back side or front. For 12mo, the side and front options would be fab. http://www.ergobabycarrier.com

This is great thanking you all. , I have to admit having tried 4 years ago with about 35mters of material i was put off slings. I’ve always used a buggy for my first daughter at glasto now 4 years old (this is her 5th glasto). Last year we borrowed a sling for our new born but i couldn’t get my head round it! So we took a double buggy for our baby (then 5 days old) and daughter (then 3) but now eldest is too big for double buggy but can ‘Squeeze’ into a single buggy when her legs get too tired (we walk about 8 miles a day) so looks like a sling will mean i can carry little’un when the big one moans her legs are too tired~! will check these sings out – thanks for the SUPER ACE service everyone xxx
@LouCarronHarris We hope you have a fantastic time and would love to hear how Glasto goes, in general and with the kids (and the carrier!) Feel free to whizz us over some pics too! artwork@flyingstartmagazine.co.uk Love from The Flying Start Team
Having had several recommendations from friends, I have just bought myself the Ergo, and I love it! It’s really easy to get on and off, and my 11 month old is perfectly happy in it. In fact, I’m going to be using it to take him around the Baby Show at the NEC in a couple of days!
Thanks – the Ergo seems popular.
Thanks for all your replies guys. We seem to have had some comments stuck in Disqus! They are now showing.
Wearing a baby sling can be attached to a child who the person at any time. Not only the children feel safe but it allows the parent to feel and know that their child is fully protected and safe next to them.
