Flying Start marks: 8/10
Conclusion: A fantastic day out for the whole family, no matter what age. A great mixture of rides and entertainment. The Medieval Shows are not to be missed.
Camelot offers more than the average theme park. It boasts a great selection of rides, amusements, enchanting wizardry shows, medieval jousting, jesters, fire eaters and even birds of prey!
Review: The park itself was very clean and well staffed. Safety was priority as all the rides were tested before the park opened at 10am. Adults are priced at £20 and children under 1 metre in height go FREE! Senior citizens and those with disabilities are £13.50. Family tickets for 4, 5 and 6 guests are available at discounts, as are group bookings and corporate days. Fantastically priced considering this park offers you much more than just theme park rides – you can even pay using your Tesco Club Card Vouchers! There are only three amusements which require payment, these being the Go Karts, the driving school and the mini golf. All shows and the Birds of Prey centre are included in the price… what more, parking is free too!
Frugal fun is welcomed, as Camelot also invites you to bring your own food to eat in the picnic area if you want to save on the cost of purchasing from one of the many food outlets located inside the park. Lockers are available for storage or you can simply leave your picnic in the car and get your hand stamped to pop out and get it during the day.
The ride height restrictions, although very strict down to the cm adhering to health and safety rules, are also very fair. With height restrictions of around 1.2m, our family of two adults, a 10 year old girl and 13 year old boy were able to enjoy rides such as Knightmare and Whirlwind together. Camelot boasts a fantastic selection of rides for much younger children too. Click here to download a map of the park.
Facilities were clean with cleaners working throughout the day within the toilet blocks. All toilets are equipped for people with disabilities. Buggies and wheelchairs are available for hire on site.
The shows are a definite ‘not to miss’. It is advisable to plan your day by checking the information boards situated around the park for times of knights jousting and Merlins Wizardry. Merlin and Scoop astound visitors with their amazing wizardry twice-a-day and the jesters, fire eaters and jousters entertain once-a-day. The shows really are enjoyable, not just for the children. There are a few jokes in there for the adults too! Myself and my husband found the jester hilarious and the jousting was outstanding.
Here is a video of our two mini reviewers on the Whirlwind and a little insight into one of the Medieval Shows.
