Baby Shower Host is owned and run by Leena Jacobs. Like so many other companies, it sprang from a moment of inspiration and has blossomed into a thriving business that now numbers several celebrities on its customer list.
In 2005 while living abroad, Leena was struck by the way in which our American cousins, in particular, celebrated the impending birth of a new baby. Presenting gifts to babies after they are born has been traditional for hundreds of years. In England the Victorians held “teas” for the mother-to-be. The “shower” developed in the USA from showering the bride before her wedding and whilst the “Baby Shower” would originally have been held after the birth, modern technology has enabled celebrations to take place prior to the happy event without the worry of buying the wrong gift.
On Leena’s return to the UK and after having had her second daughter, she and her husband set about creating Baby Shower Host. The humble origins of study, loft and garage were soon replaced by a rented warehouse in 2007 and the immediate growth necessitated four employees to cope with the expansion.
The business continued its success over the following two years, five new employees took the total to nine and the warehouse was replaced by dedicated premises in Corsham, Wiltshire. Leena believes the success of the business has come about through maintaining a high level of customer service which her hardworking staff have to be credited for. The company has come to the notice of not just the ordinary members of public but also the world of celebrity and orders have been received from Myleene Klass, Colleen Rooney and Kimberley Walsh to name but a few,
Leena sees a bright future for Baby Shower Host. She has expanded the company portfolio by adding new target markets to include Bridal Showers, Christenings, 1st Birthdays, baby gifts and children’s parties with a philosophy of keeping customers part of the Baby Shower Host family by supporting them on the whole journey from pre-wedding celebrations through to starting their families and nurturing their children through their early years.
